Eating a hotdog is art.

Eating a hotdog in a bun has proved to be extremely difficult to eat for me since I was a teeny weeny girl. I always spilled the sauce a bit. Contents would be all over the table by the time I finish. So after a couple more of tries, I gave up.

Fast forward to 10 years later, I found myself ordering a hotdog. I knew it was going to be a challenge. And when the food arrived, I could only stare at it.

Seeing my friends eat, I knew I had to take a bite. I opened my mouth as wide as it can go. With that first bite, I already knew I looked ridiculous. So I went on with my lack of care of etiquette. With the last bite, I just stuffed the remaining parts in my mouth. I never realized there was still so much. I wasn’t able to talk for a minute. My friends stared at me and I just shrugged my shoulders.

Hotdogs taste extremely well but prove to be more challenging than your regular burger. After that episode, I realized I just had to train myself more to get the perfect result of looking like a normal person when I eat hotdog in a bun. Hopefully.

My mom has foreseen the future.

I never thought my mom actually saw me as a kid who would probably never end up with someone. I thought I was the only one in the household who thought that. Kids in my school would most likely agree with me, but they’re a different story. My mom is… my mom.

But again, she is my mom and I tell her a LOT of things. She has caught up on the fact that guys don’t   knock on my door and confess their complete undying infatuation to me. She must have understood during prom, when no one asked me to dance. Moms know things in a way that I can’t comprehend. Like a boss.

We had our normal uneventful supper. As I was busy imagining scenarios that included my biases, my mom decided to start a conversation with a topic that came completely out of the blue.

Mom: Do you have plans of marrying after school?

Me: Ummm… yes? I don’t even have a boyfriend yet!

Mom: Oh… good. Me and your dad want another chance at raising children. So a grandchild or two would be nice.

Me: Huh?

Mom: Anyways, if you can’t find anyone in the future, I’ll look for you. I’ll set you up.

Me: Thanks…. o.O

I’ve gotta appreciate my mom for boosting up my self-confidence there. Thanks mommy!

Do moms do these kinds of things a lot?

In time of cold, I have the sun

The sun loves being the girlfriend of the country that I live in. The Philippines is located near the equator. So it is a given that we get our share of sunlight ALL year long(except during those really dark rainy days). Really lucky.

I downloaded this app that showcases street fashion all over the world. As I scanned the pics, I saw pictures of girls wearing coats, boots, scarves and everything else considered stylish during the winter season. I, therefore, deduced that it is winter in most top and bottom parts of the world.

I looked at the pictures and decided I wanted to wear those types of clothing during the group filming we were supposed to have today-which was cancelled due to some parental issues. Then I realized I’m gonna sweat like a pig and die in those clothes.

See, the dress code for most people here is: shorts and a simple tee. Which, considering the weather, is pretty reasonable.

Unfortunately for me, I would be more suitable for the slightly colder weather. I wouldn’t be ridiculed if I decided I wanna wear a leather jacket or boots. The irony of life can even be witnessed in my preferences in clothes. But it doesn’t end there…

I’m one of those people who love noodles and coffee. Even if I am nowhere near 18, I prefer coffee over milk. Anytime. As for noodles, I find it a tastier substitute to rice, even if rice is still a staple in my life. The foods mentioned are known to be hot- most of the time.

I also prefer having a comforter wrapped around my body. But I can’t do that if my parents find it too cold and switch off the A/C. The night air is cool even without the A/C.But it’s not cool enough. So I have to settle for a thin little blanket. I like the feeling of something wrapping me.

It’s like how everyone says life just likes to show that you can’t get everything you want. And it shows even in the littlest of things. Don’t you just love it? Anyways, have a good day or night… really depends on where you are. 🙂

Because it’s the way things go round

She waits day by day
Hoping to hear what she wants him to say
He’s out with friends
And one special lady to tend
She leaves in tears
Confirming her worst fears
He comes and looks
Realizing she had limits too
He yearns for her
And thinks he can get her back
He says he’ll improve on what he lacks
As long as they get back on track
She believes with all her love
Thinking for once, she’d be above
All the girls he brings to bed
That now he won’t leave her for dead
So again the cycle repeats
With her hoping
And him still not caring.
